Vila-Matas–displaying an extensive reading and research of his subject matter–paid homage here to what he coined the bbartleby of the No. What he calls “Writers of the No”, those who suffer from Bartleby’s Syndrome. Also, the authors he picks are necessarily a bit under the radar for the most part, or they’re not prolific.
